Hi
I'm from Sydney and was wondering if anyone has advice about skiing in Canada. I'm in going in 2011.

I've been to Whistler Blackcomb in the summer and it was amazing, I'd highly recommend riding whistler, B.C. if you get a chance, because even in the summer it was beautiful with some good jumps and runs and I'm praying to make it out there some winter season!

I went to Whistler/Blackcomb this past Christmas, December 2009 and it was great. I spent four days there and found that I really enjoyed Blackcomb, skiing there exclusively for three of the days. If visibility is good, I recommend making your way back to the Blackcomb Glacier. Seventh Heaven is really nice on a sunny day, but can get very icy and is usually fairly crowded. However, you can get from to the Hortsman T Bar off the back side of Seventh Heaven and then do the mini hike up to the Blackcomb Glacier. This all depends on what type of terrain you are looking to hit. It was also kind of fun to go over to the Creekside area where they ran Olympic events down to, this is on the Whistler mountain. Also, if you can stay at a place that is ski in/ski out, of course that is ideal. I stayed at the Aspens and you can get a fairly good deal if you want to put in the time to look for them. Occupancy is down from what I hear, even at Christmas this past year and possibly it will be this way when you travel.

Our current SFC USA Intern Coordiantor is from Sydney (she moves back to Sydney in April), and she has spent a little bit of time skiing in Canada. Her name is Jess Wang. She wants to help get an SFC started at Perisher.
